The Land Transportaion Office has allowed overseas Filipinos to renew their local driver's liscenses if they are abroad.

Administrative Order No.RIB-2007-011, Series of 2007,signed by LTO chief Reynaldo Berroya, and approved by Undersecretary for Road Transport Annelli Lontoc, allows any Filipino who is a holder of aunthentic Philippine driver's liscense at the time of departure and who is presently staying abroad.

It amends a previous detective that granted such a privilege only to Overseas Filipino Workers. That limitation gave rise to inconveniences encountered by other Filipinos who had been forced to return to the Philippines to renew their driver's liscenses personally.

Records officer III Jossie Borja furnished members of the Filipino communities overseas with certified copies of the new administrative.

The authorized representative is required to present on behalf of the licensee the following documents to the LTO processing officer: Original driver's license/one photocopy a photocopy of the Philippine passport 5with visa of liscensee to the LTO requesting the renewal and authorizing a representative to the renew the license on his/her behalf.
